Hi. my name is Joep.
I’m the founder and author of Smart Morning Routine. Like most people out there I never really was a morning person and I often had a lot of troubles to get out of bed and to start my day. I had several other things that I was interested in picking up at the time, but due to low energy levels I never really pursued the things that I wanted.
But I wanted more
I have been a passionate reader ever since got pocket money from my parents. I would save all the quarters I could get my hands on so I could buy the next book I wanted to read. As much as I like reading, for some reason, I rarely have time to read now. Sure I had picked up a few copies here and there but I never really had to chance to really consume the books that I wanted.
Having gained a few pound, I also felt that this situation was unacceptable for me and this had to change. But where do fit a physical exercise during my day and to really commit to it, at least, five times per week, this was a big challenge for me. I would not always be able to control when work, my social life or other things required my attention and thus make it impossible to commit to a fixed physical exercise routine. I tried and I tried, sure I did. Knowing that I am not the kind of person who goes to the gym and having limited options around where I live, I decided to dive in the seven-minute workout routine, as well, it required only seven minutes of my day. I felt that this was something that I could commit myself to.
So over the course of the next weeks, I would dedicate time in the evening to really do the seven-minute workout and to also more push myself to pick up other things that I was interested in. This simple change already had a big effect on me, in less than one month I lost almost nine pounds, started to learn coding (something that I was always interested in but never picked up) and I was feeling better overall. But I wasn’t there yet, my schedule could be very irregular due to other obligations I had and I felt that this was hampering the journey towards my goals.
The ultimate change
I had recently read a lot about morning routines and how they had a huge impact on people’s lives. Sure morning routines were nothing new, Benjamin Franklin, Beethoven and more others were famous for their morning routine. Inspired by people that enthusiastically shared their results I dived in head first to explore how this could change my life.
The change was hard, at first, I had trouble waking up and really starting to do things in the morning. My body would protest against everything that slightly had to do with exercise or anything else. But already over the course of a few days, I started to see changes, I was feelingI had more energy already and I more and more felt like I could conquer the world!
Before I knew it was exciting to wake up earlier and I was getting more done than ever before. I started to work on my side projects, one of them would later become Smart Morning Routine. I was feeling so much more energy and I had started to feel more fulfillment in my life. The small health problems I had before disappeared in no time and I could feel the impact on my everyday life! But it didn’t stop there, as I also noticed that my relations improved. Once I started to feel better I was also more relaxed and more able to be the kind of person that people around me deserved!

Enthusiastic by my own results I decided to turn one of my small side projects in Smart Morning Routine. My goal is to inspire you to take control of your own life and experience first hand how one simple change will brighten the rest of your day.
